If you’re like me you probably put things of until the last minute. I have done this with work and with college and seem to get by just fine. But a wedding speech seems a little bit different because a lot of people are relying on you. Whether you are getting married, the best man, a maid of honor or any other important role, it is essential that you do not ruin your speech.

It is understandable because a typical speech at a wedding is not your everyday occurrence. It is usually humorous and also emotional and you often say things you would not normally say in public. But there is a structure to most speeches that you can follow and make your own, even if it is the morning of the wedding.

The structure should be in 3 parts. The introduction, the body and the closing words. To start you could thank the married couple for a wonderful occasion and the families for helping to make it possible. The main body should include some anecdotes about the couple, such as the first time they met. You can include some funny moments here and also show some sincerity towards them. Finally you can say what a beautiful couple they are and propose a toast.

The speech should fairly short and spoken from the heart and you will make a great impression on the audience. If you are stuck on what words to say you can get examples on the internet and adapt them for yourself to be unique.
