Okay, so here are a few of the basic tips that might be useful to you:

  • Try to keep the speech on time and relatively short. Nobody likes a rambling speech that drags on.
  • Don’t be too dry or too funny. Try to mix in some humor with some sincerity so you get a mix of both.
  • Practice the speech a number of times in advance. Being prepared with help get rid of the nerves on the big day.
  • Compliment the bride as this is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Everyone wants to hear a sincere compliment about your love.
  • Thank the families as they will probably have been instrumental in arranging the wedding.
  • Think, before you write the speech, of some memorable moments you have shared with your wife that will elevate the speech.

These are just a few tips that can make a groom wedding speech special. The problem with some speeches are that they are too long or are inappropriate.

You don’t want to be saying the wrong things when you have everyone around you. So bear in mind the audience that will be listening when you write your speech.
